The
following are examples of projects which include voice
and data network cable systems, rollout services, voice
services, audio/video systems, and national projects.
The budget for these projects ranged from $100,000
to $3 million. These examples highlight a range of
MIS services, in multiple vertical markets.
Client: Fortune 500 - Industrial Organization
Task: Network Cable System
MIS installed the structured cable system for the new National
Data Center at their Technical Center. The project is a Fujikora
fiber optic system, and Krone Category
6 Solution. The total project entailed over 7,500 strands of fiber
optic cable and nearly 8,000 Category 6 cables. All of this work
was completed in a condensed time frame of less than 10 weeks.
Client: Regional Retail Organization
Task: Voice Services, Rollouts Services
MIS installs, maintains and services over 200 business telephone
systems for retail outlet stores throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Initially
we rolled out 50 business telephone systems and have
continued to standardize on the NEC Business
System platform in all new construction and remodel
work. Other rollouts that we have completed for this
retailer includes; racking, stacking, initial programming,
and testing of network equipment for a:
- Over
100 store upgrade of servers.
- Over
100 store upgrade of hub electronics.
- Over
100-store upgrade of laser printers.
- Over
100-store upgrade of routers.
Client: National Technology Organization
Task: National Projects, Network Cable System
MIS installed a Systimax structured
cable system with a warranty in the following locations for this
Client:
- Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania - World Headquarters
- San
Jose, California
- Chicago,
Illinois
- Detroit,
Michigan
- Brussels,
Belgium
- Singapore
Their
headquarters, located in Pittsburgh, entailed approximately
1200 quad, Category 5 horizontal outlets and 120 fiber
backbones. The other projects listed above ranged from
20 quad horizontal outlets to 200 quad outlets supporting
their voice and data network. Our Client chose MIS
to coordinate this effort because of MIS's ability
to manage projects nationally and internationally from
design through implementation.
Client: Division II University
Task: Network Cable System
MIS completed the cable infrastructure installation for all the
dormitory residences on campus in the summer of 2000. This work
was in cooperation with numerous other vendors for the rollout
of new IT services to the students, this included new PBX service,
local and long distance telephony, Cable TV, Pay-Per-View, ISP
and LAN connectivity.
MIS
completed over 15,000 man-hours over the summer break
to accomplish this. The structured cable system was
a Hubbell & General Cable Solution.
Client: Regional Hospital
Task: Voice Services, Network Cable System
MIS installed a Systimax structured
cable system with a 20-year warranty in four facilities for the
Hospital. The project included over 3,000 Systimax PowerSum, Category
5 horizontal outlets, and over 70 redundant fiber backbones, supporting
a Marconi A.T.M. Network.
MIS
has also installed over 20 NEC Business
Telephone Systems with voicemail throughout the Hospital's
Physician's network.

Fortune 3000 Technology Organization
Task: National Projects, Audio/Video, Network Cable System
MIS installed an Ortronics Structured
Cable System with a 25-year warranty for this Commercial Client's
new Headquarters. There were 750 horizontal quad outlets and 200
strands of fiber backbone. In addition, MIS installed over 700,
Category 5E cables and 200 strands of fiber in their new data center.
MIS then was asked to continue rolling out, nationally, network
cabling to the following offices for this Commercial Client:

MIS
was also contracted to provide audio/video services
throughout the Client's facilities. These services
included Video Conferencing Equipment, Paging, and "Smart" Conference
rooms.
The
Client chose MIS to complete their National Project
because of MIS's ability to manage a project from design
through implementation.
Client: Fortune 1000 Health Care Organization
Task: Network Cable System
The client contracted in a joint venture manner with Systimax and
MIS to perform the installation of the Systimax Structured
Cable Systems, (SCS), and their new PBX. The project consisted
of nearly 3,000 horizontal outlets, plus over 18,000 pairs of copper
riser and 1,400 strands of fiber optic backbone cable. MIS worked
in cooperation with the phased construction schedule and the entire
building utilized a raised floor system for routing of all the
communication cables. The project is a Systimax SCS.
Client: Fortune 500 Financial Institution
Task: Voice Services
MIS installs, services and maintains hundreds of Comdial Systems
throughout this Client's headquarters and branch facilities. These
systems are typically behind Verizon's Centrex service.
Client: Fortune 500 Commercial Organization
Task: National Projects, Network Cable System
MIS performed the installation in two phases of new cable infrastructure
for their Plant in North Carolina, over 2000 and 2001. This project
was a complete campus upgrade to the horizontal cable and the campus
copper and fiber optic cable. The ability of MIS to manage and
coordinate the installation of this site in North Carolina, while
both project management teams for MIS and the Client are located
in Pittsburgh, proved to be an asset to the Client. The project
entailed over 1,300 outlets and an extensive campus/riser backbone
of copper and fiber optic cable at the Client's manufacturing facility.
Client: Fortune 1000 Technology Organization
Task: Network Cable System
MIS installed a Systimax Structured
Cable System with a 20-year warranty in all five of the Corporate
Headquarters Facilities in Warrendale. The total project included
4,500 horizontal outlets and fiber backbones, in their state of
the art buildings at their Cranberry Campus. In addition, MIS completed
structured cabling systems at several regional locations: Colorado,
New Jersey, Florida, as well as two off site local facilities.
Client: Fortune 1000 Technology Organization
Task: Voice Services
MIS provides this Fortune 1000 Client onsite technicians for servicing,
installing, programming, and maintaining Northern Telecom PBX's
at seven major sites in the area.
Client: Fortune 1000 Commercial Organization
Task: National Projects, Network Cable System
MIS installed a Systimax Structured
Cable System with a 20-year warranty in 13 manufacturing sites
and the corporate headquarters of this Fortune 1000 Client throughout
the Nation. The project entailed approximately 300, Category 5
dual outlets and 40 fiber optic and copper backbones. This Client
chose MIS to do their National Project because of MIS's ability
to take a project from design through implementation.
Client: Fortune 100 Commercial Organization
Task: Network Cable System
The Client had renovated an old office building in downtown Pittsburgh,
transforming a 1900's vintage structure into a state of the art
IP Telephony Office Center. This is the largest IP Telephony project
between New York and San Francisco. MIS performed the design and
build of the cable infrastructure to support the convergance of
voice and data onto CISCO IP Telephony. In the process, MIS saved
the Client nearly 25% of the traditional costs of voice and data
cable systems in our design. The Client's Center currently occupies
seven floors and supports nearly 1,000 users in the historic building.
Client: Fortune 100 Commercial Organization
Task: Network Cable System
MIS installed the communications infrastructure for this Client's
Headquarters in Moon Township, this included 2,300 outlets, plus
an extensive fiber and copper riser to support, LAN and Mainframe
applications. The riser is comprised of over 10,000 pairs of copper
and nearly 1,000 strands of fiber optic cable. In addition, MIS
recently completed a 1,000 outlet new wing to the original headquarters
site. This system is a Systimax SCS.
Client: Division I University
Task: Network Cable System
MIS installed a Systimax Structured
Cable System supporting voice and data services to 14 buildings,
on this Division I University Campus. The project entailed over
1,000 horizontal outlets, 30 fiber optic backbone cables, supporting
the data network and 30 copper backbones supporting the voice network
for the entire campus.
Client: Fortune 3000 Industrial Organization
Task: Network Cable System, National Projects
MIS installed an AMP Technologies Structured Cable System in four
manufacturing facilities for this Industrial Client throughout
the Midwest. The project entailed over 1,000 horizontal, Category
5 outlets and 14 fiber optic backbone cables. This Client chose
to utilize MIS because of our ability to take National Projects
from design throughout implementation.

Task: Network Cable System
MIS installed a Systimax Structured
Cable System with a 20-year warranty for this Technology Organization
Headquarters. The project entailed 400 horizontal outlets and 30
strands fiber optic backbones, supporting their voice and data
network.
MIS
also installed the cabling in their Data Center in
Greentree and installed over 500 Systimax,
Category 6 cables to various locations. Over 100 strands
of multi-mode fiber were installed during the first
phase, as well.
